Brisk Sales Mark Fall Tradeshows

Fall was a busy tradeshow season for LiuGong, with a show in Jakarta in October, China’s BICES in early November, the Big 5 in Dubai, Phiconstruct 2009, held in mid-November in Manila, the Philippines, ConBuild 2009 in Vietnam and ExCon at the end of November in Bangalore. As a whole this group of tradeshows was an overwhelming success.

Despite economic anxiety in Indonesia, Jakarta for instance, was extremely busy, featuring 300 equipment exhibitors from 30 countries. It was hosted by the Indonesia Mining Association and the Indonesia Energy and Mining Resources Ministry. Three CLG856 units were sold at this tradeshow.

Comparatively speaking, the Jakarta tradeshow was small when contrasted with Phiconstruct, which attracted over 1,200 exhibitors. At this tradeshow, LiuGong displayed eight machines, including the CLG835, CPD20, CLG205C, CLG856, CLG614, ZL50C and CLG2030H. In total, six machines were sold – one 255C, two 856 wheel loaders and three 835 wheel loaders. A number of new customers visited the booth and were exposed to LiuGong for the first time.

The Big 5 tradeshow was larger still. The show, held November 21-24 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, had over 2,800 companies in attendance. LiuGong displayed eight machines and had one of the largest booths at the convention. The CLG856, CLG225C, CLG612H, CPCD30, CPCD50, CLG375 and CLG777 were all featured in LiuGong’s “modern and impressive” booth.

This tradeshow was an important part of LiuGong’s continued expansion into the Middle East. Despite the financial crisis in Dubai, some industry experts predict a 20% increase in the regions construction sector over the next five years, making it a key region in LiuGong’s plan to become a global player.

ConBuild was the smallest tradeshow of the season, attracting 200 exhibitors. Though no sales were made, prospective sales were initiated on a forklift, roller and two wheel loaders. In an effort to make the LiuGong booth more visible, two high-altitude balloons with the LiuGong logo floated high above the booth in the sky. While the exhibition battled weather conditions and other factors beyond their control, it was ultimately rated a success by those in attendance.

The final tradeshow of the group was the ExCon show in Bangalore. It ran from Nov 25-Nov 29 and hosted over 350 exhibitors from India as well as a number of international players. ExCon is Asia’s largest exhibition for construction and earth moving equipment. Eleven LiuGong machines were displayed, ranging from the 835 wheel loader to the brand new B230 bulldozer. These machines received high praise from all who visited the booth, including some of LiuGong’s main competitors.

After such a busy run of tradeshows, LiuGong has no intention of slowing down. In April, another full year of tradeshows will kick off at BAUMA 2010 in Munich. This will be one of the most important and largest tradeshows of the year. It will most certainly set the stage for each of the other shows LiuGong will attend in 2010.
